With temperatures continuing to rise and the school year ending, the exodus from the city to the shore has begun in Philadelphia. Now just because you are headed to the beach, doesn’t mean that you can’t do it in style…vegan style that is. Here are some of my favorites that will keep you looking and feeling cool while enjoying those lazy, summer days.
Starting off with swim suits there are lots of great choices out there this season like this adorable bandeau one piece from J Crew in super summery gingham seersucker. This suit has nice ruching detail at the waist and a removable halter strap if you need a bit more support.

If you prefer to show a bit more skin, check out this mod inspired bikini from Anthropologie. The cut of the top has a cool retro vibe that is sexy while still providing a nice amount of coverage and support. This suit comes in a few different patterns which are all really cute, but the stand out for me is the dot version below.

I am a big believer in sun protection and that includes protecting your precious noggin. This raffia floppy hat is from vegan fashion brand Vaute Couture. Not only does this hat protect you from the sun and look fabulous, it is also sustainable as it is made of vintage deadstock straw materials. Way to go Vaute Couture!

To me, navy and white stripes are always synonymous with summer time and the beach, so this cute floppy hat from Zara really fits the bill.

When it comes to footwear for the beach I personally prefer a slide to a flip flop. I think it is a little bit more stylish but just as easy to kick off once you hit the sand. For a fun summer look, I really love these slides from ASOS. I mean, what’s not to love about sandals with big gold stars on them?

So maybe you are a bit more reserved and would prefer a basic sandal. No problem1 These vegan espadrille slides from H & M are classic summer sandals that will be both comfy and chic whether you are trekking to the beach or wandering up and down the boardwalk.

Last but not least, the beach cover-up. You need to look as good going to and from the beach as you do while you are on it! For me, when I go to the beach, I like to wear a simple, lightweight cover-up that I can easily take on and off but still look pulled together. I am coveting this cotton caftan-like cover-up from Madewell which is versatile enough that it is both perfect for the beach or for a night out paired with strappy heeled sandals.
