This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend and I took a few extra days off from work to relax and unplug. So needless to say I am a bit behind in my blog post schedule because I unplugged a bit too much! Worry not, dedicated vegan fashion followers because I bring to you today what I think is a really fun post. Here is my personal wish list of clothes, shoes and accessories that I plan to add to the “Closet of Claire” for the Spring/Summer ’16 season. Enjoy!
I always seem to have a wedding or two every summer and end up scrambling last minute for a dress. Not this season. The Penelope Color Block Dress by La Fille Colette is available at the awesome all vegan store Bead and Reel. This dress comes in either black or merlot (I’m going for the black…shocking, I know) and is made from a rayon/nylon/lycra combo that allows for a bit of stretch and a super flattering fit. As I mentioned, I plan on wearing this dress to some upcoming weddings, but it is versatile enough for me to also wear it to work or even an upscale dinner with the hubs.

I wrote a previous post about how culottes are making a big comeback this season. I’ve seen so many different styles and patterns that I’ve had a difficult time deciding which pair to purchase. Well the search has ended. I have decided on these awesome Citizens of Humanity Melanie culottes in black washed denim from Anthropologie. I love the distressed look of the denim on these pants and the frayed hem detail is to die for. I think I am going to get a lot of wear out of these bad boys.

I love when designers take a classic piece and add a slight twist to give it that extra oomph. Take this Chevron Boater long sleeve t-shirt from Bon Label. This is not your everyday stripped shirt. First, instead of the usual navy and white, it is available in a bone and black combo which is so chic. Second, check out the chevron detail on the sleeve. Such a small detail that really ups the style level. Finally, this shirt is made from 100% organic cotton, which makes it just that much better.

Of course I need some new sandals for this season, right?! I live in the city and do a lot of walking once the weather gets nice, so I need a sandal that will be comfortable for my urban treks. The Flatform Sandal from Teva is the perfect combination of stylish, rugged and comfortable. Available from ASOS these vegan sandals are available in black and white, great basic colors for any wardrobe.

I am sure that I might pick up a few additional items here and there, but I am trying to adopt a more minimalist approach to my closet, purchasing fewer pieces that are well made and can transition from season to season. What new items do you plan to add to your wardrobe? Anything that I should add to my list?
