There is nothing that I like more than seeing a celebrity use their status to promote and further a cause that is close to my heart. This is why I am so excited about a recent collaboration between Nikki Reed and Freedom of Animals.
Nikki Reed, known best for her roles in 13 and Twilight, is not new to animal advocacy. She has been a voice for the animals in many ways including being a mom to several adopted animals, working with the Humane Society of the United States on promoting animal rights issues, and even testifying at the California Assembly on behalf of Assembly Bill 147, the bill that gives cats and dogs the opportunity to be adopted after they’ve been tested on. Now we can add ethical vegan handbag designer to Nikki’s growing animal advocacy resume with her collaboration with sustainable and vegan luxury bag line, Freedom of Animals.
Based in New York and founded in 2013, Freedom of Animal’s mission is to provide their customers with distinct and purposeful designs that comply with ethical practices. All of their bags are produced in the United State and their materials are all vegan and sourced from vendors who use green facilities and practice eco-friendly production when possible. Freedom of Animals also gives back to the animals and the environment through their partnership with the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya who works to conserve wildlife and rehabilitate orphaned elephants and rhinoceroses. Freedom of Animals encourages people to donate directly to the Trust and with the growth of their company they aim to donate a percentage of each sale. If all of this wasn’t enough, the bags are also super fashionable! Here are a few of my favorites below.
The Canvas Mini Bucket Bag is made of post consumer plastic and cotton canvas, vegetable dyed and lined with organic cotton. I love the size and shape of this adorable bag. The tan color is a great neutral that will go with anything and the faux boa textured eco-faux vegan leather pocket and tassels are nice touches that up the chic factor. There are other variations on the bucket bag in this line that you should definitely take a look at!

The whimsical circle shape of the Boromo Circle Bag is sure to make you smile. Made in pebbled white eco-faux vegan leather with an adjustable strap, this bag is as functional as it is fashionable. This bag comes in other vegan leather colors and is also available in cotton canvas.

The Veronika Tote is the perfect bag for work or for leisure. You can carry a 13″ laptop or a towel, sunscreen and trashy novel, either way you will do it in style with this bag. Available in pebbled navy eco-faux vegan leather with a detachable cross body strap, inner zip pocket and two phone/accessory pockets. Super chic and super functional.

There are other styles, fabrications and colors available in this line that I sincerely hope that you will go and check out. A big Fashionvictimless shout out to Nikki Reed and Freedom of Animals to say “thank you” for helping to spread the word that fashion can be compassionate and kind to the environment.
